Haunting, Isn’t It? | dayeandknight | 3

After Alex made his exit from the entrance hall, Sam looked over at Zack, "Might as well take a look around, couldn't hurt."

The entrance hall had two staircases leading to the the top floor level, the left one was chosen by Sam with Zack following him close behind. They slowly walked up the stairs, leaving wet footprints and small puddles from their dripping clothes. Once at the top they make their way down varying, darkened halls while noticing paintings and photos. Friends and family most likely, and a few images of places that must have been important to the owners of the manor.

Sam and Zack eventually came to a room and once they flicked the light switch they saw a large bed. There was, strangely enough, no dust to be seen unlike the entrance hall.

Sam went straight for the bed while Zack looked around, puzzled by the discrepancy in the level of dust. Sam, placing his hands on the bed bounced it up and down, "I call this room if we need to stay the night."

Zack, a bit uncomfortable, "I don't know. Maybe we should go back to the car."

"What, why?" Sam said looking over.

"Something doesn't feel right, is all. Like why does this place still have lights if there is no one around to pay the electric bill?"

Sam shrugs "Maybe some paper work went missing or something, so they never shut it off?"

"I guess," replied Zack, only half agreeing. A draft blows in passed the door and they both shiver a little. Zack walked into what looked to be a walk-in closet and looked over the clothes to see if there is something that might fit him, figuring if he was going to stay in this place, he might as well have something dry to wear.

Zack picks out ...
